New Statesman New Media Award 2006
Sonic Postcards has recently won the New Statesman New Media Award for Education. We are thrilled to have won this award which celebrates the project's significant contribution to education through the use of new media technology. The project was up against 58 other projects, including those run by such high-profile organisations as Ordnance Survey, National Theatre, Saatchi Gallery, Tate Learning and Sports Relief. Sonic Postcards was recognised for "not only helping children learn about new media technology by capturing sounds and images, but also [for] its ability to use the internet to gather children across the UK for a fun and educational experience."
We'd like to take this opportunity thank all the schools that have participated and everyone who has supported the project for their enthusiasm and engagement with the work we do.
