Brechin, Angus, DD9School Year:2009-2010
Date:16 April 2010
Mrs Baker, a parent helper at Andover, worked with Mrs McCulloch’s P5 class. We had great fun visiting lots of places of local interest in Brechin. We went for a walk down to the river and recorded the sound of the water. We also visited the Leisure Centre and recorded some brilliant sounds including the dividing net and the power plate in the fitness room. A group of pupils went with Mrs Baker on an outing to the park and found some super sounds to record. The favourite sound was the laughter on the roundabout! Some of the class were lucky enough to attend a football match where they had organised to record an interview with the manager of Brechin City Football Club. Some of the class investigated the sounds in and around the school including a concert rehearsal, Lego bricks and the music room! Finally, we recorded the sounds of the diesel and steam engines at The Caledonian Railway. That was a brilliant outing enjoyed by all! Toot Toot!
