Al-Bashaer School, Syria
Damascus, SYSchool Year:2007-2008
Date:22 April 2008
Damascus! What an amazing city with lots to explore. British composer Pippa Murphy and artist Miriam Nabarro have been working with local artists Bassam Al Bader and Khaled Wazaefi with pupils from Al-Bashaer School. This project is delivered in partnership with the British Council and Damascus 2008 Arab Capital of Culture. Can you tell whether it is hot or cold in Damascus when we went recording? We collected sound, textures and images from a park, a new shopping mall and old Damascus where there is a beautiful mosque. We used disposable cameras to collect images - can you hear a camera in the Postcard?
