Diana, the workshop leader who worked with P6S, has this to say about the project: The Primary 6S class at Kintore School walked around the village and surrounding area to capture their sounds. The village provided lots of interesting sonic locations including the supermarket, the hairdressers, and a garage where they kindly switched on a motorbike and lots of tools for us to record. Later on the trip we went to the river which runs close to the village. Sounds here included the rapids and throwing stones. However, possibly the favourite sound of the day was the level crossing, where fortunately we were just in time to catch the sound of the barriers closing and the train passing right in front of us. It turned out that almost half of primary 6S were in the choir, and we had a performance of one of their songs in the class, recorded by the other half. On the final day, the class made use of their own class smartboard and the fabulous ICT room, where the students have lots of new computers. They also made some great colourful artwork in the afternoon.
