Sonic Postcards is a creative education project devised and delivered by Sonic Arts Network, and takes place in schools throughout the UK, encouraging pupils to engage with their sound environment and be creative with ICT. This website contains all the Sonic Postcards created by the pupils alongside their accompanying work, for example, films, images of art work and creative writing, as well as other information such as project details, teacher resources, press and partner information.

We've changed! And moved!
22 June 2009
Over the last few months we have changed rather dramatically - Sonic Arts Network has become Sound and Music! Have a look at our new website at www.soundandmusic.org - you can even upload your own profile. We've also moved offices so please have a look in the contact section for details. We'll be looking to relaunch Sonic Postcards over the next couple of months. If you have any ideas for developing the programme just let me know.
We're in Syria!
22 April 2008
We're back in Syria delivering Sonic Postcards projects in schools but this time in collaboration with local artists, Bassam Al Bader and Khaled Wazaefi. British composer Pippa Murphy and visual artist Miriam Nabarro are wroking in Damascus in partnership with the British Council and Damascus 2008 Arab Capital of Culture. It is very hot here and the sky is blue! We'll be collecting sound and visual textures and images from different parts of Damascus - there is lots to explore. The pupils will produce a range of work over the next few weeks to exchange with Britain, so keep an eye and ear out for the Damascus Sonic Postcards in the Sonic Postcards world.
Dundee Contemporary Arts
17 November 2008
Hello. We've been working with Dundee Contemporary Arts of late in a multimedia context. In October we were in Dundee as part of the Kill Your Timid Notion festival working with artists and young people. We couldn't stay away for long and were back in November working this time at the DCA's own film festival exploring sound for film and moving image. Have a look at all the different groups of people we worked with over these two festivals.
